“Celebrating the Past, Looking Ahead to the Future”
This year’s Sharathon’s theme was twofold, looking at all the events and special blessings that brought this ministry from a small low-powered station in Pasco to our network that covers much of the region with 5 transmitters and growing! Certainly, these blessings are from the Lord, but we are also grateful for the prayers and sacrificial giving from many listeners over the years. Christian Family Radio now serves the Tri-Cities, Hermiston, Walla Walla and many other communities with KOLU at 39,000 watts along with translators in Yakima, the Lower Valley, Moses Lake and LaGrande, OR. Looking to the future, we have plans to increase our coverage in Moses Lake and have a permit to build a brand-new station in Aberdeen, WA. The Lord continues to open doors, and we may have opportunities to broadcast in other Northwest cities as well!
The Sharathon started September 29th at 1 pm and ran through October 1st at 10 pm. Friday, we started at 1pm and Saturday at 10:00 am.
Our operating budget this year is $120,000, which remains very low for a network that includes a 39,000 watt main station along with 3 translators, covering a large region in central and southeast Washington and northeast Oregon. Our listeners committed $80,739.00 toward our budget this year, and we very grateful for their sacrificial giving.
Once again, Don and Mike Cline hosted the Sharathon, and kept it engaging and enlightening, even while helping our listeners understand the importance in raising funds for operation. We are very grateful for their contribution, taking time out of their busy lives, for the sake of the Gospel. Listeners had the opportunity to participate and learn more about this ministry. Saturday brought a “food court” with many coming out to enjoy food and fellowship! We also had many visitors to the studio.
Thank you for your participation in the Sharathon and may the Lord bless you for your sacrificial support of this ministry!
